Day 10 - 08062015 - Victoria River Roadhouse to Timber Creek - 94 km

Great day of riding today.  We intended to have an early start, but mucked about a bit so didn't get going till about 7:45.  The first 5 km was amazing as the road wound between huge, red rocky outcrops. Seemed like I was stopping every 500 metres to take a photo.

Not much wind, temperature was good and road surface was good, who could ask for anything more?

Saw our first boab tree for the trip this morning too.

Went past Joe's Creek.  It was small, dry and dusty with very small stones.

I also found Lost Creek...didn't know it was missing, but if anyone wants to claim it I'll tell them where it is.

Did 60 km by about 11:00 and stopped for a lunch of tortilla and Kraft cheese.  Only 30 km to go so we went for it and I was in Timber Creek by 1:00.  It was a bit hot after lunch, but not too bad. Glad we were off the road early though it was scorching later in the day.

At least the caravan park has a pool.

Had tea, sausages and salad and then had a cup of tea with Scott and Katie, some cyclists we met from Tasmania.

It is about 230 km to the next town Kununurra so will have a couple of nights in the bush and will need to find some shade for the middle of the day.
