Left Litchfield Tourist Park and pedalled to Batchelor for breakfast.
While we were there we looked at the map at the iSpot and spoke to a lady there and decided to take an alternative route that would keep us off the Stuart Hwy. The lady gave us directions, but failed to mention that although the road looke "normal" on the map, it was in fact a 4WD only track.
We left the bitumen and went on to progressively worse roads that looked more like farm service roads than a major road. We eventually went to a farm and spoke to a bloke who said that we were on the right track and it was a very bad road. We persisted going down the goat track and eventually came out at Adelaide River. Very tough ride.
Booked a site and had a shower. A few hours later Lizzie rolled up and camped with us.
Went to the pub for a Barra burger for tea with Lizzie and a couple of other people we got talking to.
Good night.
