Day 16 - 14062015 - Bindoola Falls to Durack River - 68 km

Got up at 5:30 had breakfast and were on the road by about 6:30.  Rocky road for a few kilometres, and then we hit a big hill at about 4 km.  Rude way to start a day.

At about the 10 k mark I was going up a hill and saw an Apollo camper at the side of the road and 2 women sitting under a tree. Stopped to say Hi and Subie and Helen offered me a cup of tea. I thought I might as well as I was a bit ahead of Joe.  Turns out they had a flat tyre and the spare on the rental was also flat.  They were waiting for either a spare wheel of a tow truck.

Joe turned up and had a cup of coffee.  While we were chatting, the tray truck turned up and they put the camper on the tray.  We didn't hang around and so kept going.

Tough going all day, but the surface did Improve at times.  We were going through a fair bit of water, and coincidently Diane and Fred stopped Joe to see how he was going and to offer him water.  They filled up all our drink bottles and my 5 litre bottle.  Thanks guys that was great. Water was cool too.

We went on our way.  Big, big steep hill at Rollies Jump Up that had both walking up.

Eventually got to the Durack River and decided to call it a day.  Lovely spot.

Cooled off in the water while watching for crocs, but I think our smell probably drives them away.  Read under a tree for the afternoon.

Dinner at 5 ish of pasta and red chilli salmon just for a change from sardines. In bed by 6:00 listening to the wild life on the river.
